#108 How Can I Keep From Singing

My life flows on in endless song above earth’s lamentation.
I hear the real though far off hymn that hails a new creation.
Through all the tumult and the strife I hear the music ringing.
It sounds an echo in my soul. How can I keep from singing!

What though the tempest ’round me roars, I know the truth, it liveth.
What though the darkness ’round me close, songs in the night it giveth.
No storm can shake my inmost calm while to that rock I’m clinging.
Since love prevails in heav’n and earth, how can I keep from singing!

When tyrants tremble as they hear the bells of freedom ringing,
when friends rejoice both far and near, how can I keep from singing!
To prison cell and dungeon vile our thoughts to them are winging;
when friends by shame are undefiled, how can I keep from singing!

Words: Traditional, Verse 3 by Doris Plenn

#298 Wake Now My Senses

Wake, now, my senses, and hear the earth call;
Feel the deep power of being in all;
Keep, with the web of creation your vow,
Giving, receiving as love shows us how.

Wake, now my reason, reach out to the new;
Join with each pilgrim who quests for the true
Honor the beauty and wisdom of time;
Suffer thy limit, and praise the sublime.

Wake, now, compassion, give heed to the cry;
Voices of suffering fill the wide sky;
Take as your neighbor both stranger and friend,
Praying and striving their hardship to end.

Wake, now, my conscience, with justice thy guide
Join with all people whose rights are denied;
Take not for granted a privileged place;
God’s love embraces the whole human race.

Wake, now, my vision of ministry clear;
Brighten my pathway with radiance here;
Mingle my calling with all who will share;
Work toward a planet transformed by our care.

Eagle Poem

“To pray you open your whole self
To sky, to earth, to sun, to moon
To one whole voice that is you.
“And know there is more
That you can’t see, can’t hear;
Can’t know except in moments
Steadily growing, and in languages
That aren’t always sound but other
Circles of motion.
“Like eagle that Sunday morning
Over Salt River. Circled in blue sky
In wind, swept our hearts clean
With sacred wings.
We see you, see ourselves and know
That we must take the utmost care
And kindness in all things.
“Breathe in, knowing we are made of
All this, and breathe, knowing
We are truly blessed because we
Were born, and die soon within a
True circle of motion,
Like eagle rounding out the morning
Inside us.
We pray that it will be done
In beauty.
In beauty.”

Song: Becoming
Artist: Spiral Rhythm
Album: We Are Light

I thrust my feet deep in the earth
Reach hungry for the sky
Bathe my limbs in the river’s flow
The wind, she blows me dry
I will become all I touch
And all that touches me
I will be one with everything I see

I hurl my body skyward
And lose myself in flight
Spread my soul through
the coming dark
Until I am the night
I will become the shadows
Between all that you see
I am a thread in all reality

I rise up with the fiery dawn
And paint a blazing sky
Ride the rain down the mountain side
And travel to the sea
I will become the seasons
The turning of the wheel
I am the light of all
that you hold dear

The sunlight falls as music
The wind she howls a tune
The earth heart beats the baseline
To the ocean’s croon
I will become the harmony
Become the melody
I will be one with
the singer and what’s sung

Now I am the fire’s power
The wind both wild and free
The molten heart of the
deep, deep earth
And the ever changing sea
I have become everything
And all has become me
I am one,
I’m everything you see

She is teacher and experience
She is wisdom, She is Crone

She stirs the cauldron of all knowledge
She is the bringer of death and rebirth

In the darkness the time of Samhain
In the dreamtime she sits and stirs

She will lead you to your dark mind
And at the crossroads she’ll be your guide

Shares Her Love

Song: Shares Her Love
Artist: Kellianna
Album: I Walk With The Goddess

The Mother shares Her love in the falling rain
The Mother shares Her love in the corn and grain
The Mother shares Her love in the warm hearth fire
The Mother shares Her love in the breeze that flies

Great Mother may we share with you our gift of song
We raise our voices joyfully, we raise them strong
Oh, Mother we are grateful for all you do
And we have come together now in praise of you

Serpent Mound

Song: Serpent Mound
Artist: Kellianna
Album: I Walk With The Goddess

Step soft upon the sacred ground
Breath of air the only sound
So much wisdom to be found
Here upon the Serpent Mound

Summer corn in bursting fields
Harvest time is drawing near
Autumn sky so blue and clear
Upon these heights release your fears

Grandmother cedar, ancient oak
Sycamore our silent host
Walnut, buckeye, hickory
Spirit speaks in rustling leaves

Walk along the ancient road
In the footsteps of our ancestors
Hear the drums from days if old
Dancing through the fields of gold

Artist: Kellianna
Song: Lugh
Album: The Ancient Ones

Lugh of the sun, Lugh of the sky
Lugh of the summer days gone be
Lugh of the Harvest, corn and wheat
Lugh of the blazing heat

King of the People, Friend of the Sidhe
Father of Heroes, Son of the Sea
Giver of Vitality, Lord of The Dance is he

Lugh of the long arm, Lugh of skill
Lugh of courage, unbending will
Blacksmith forging the battle spear
Warrior revered

Lugh of lightning, Lugh of the storm
Swift and steady with thunderous roar
Lugh of blackened sky and rain
Power of hurricane

Handsome champion, eternal youth
Fearless leader of strength and truth
Host of games, the field events,
And feasts filled with merriment

Masterful Bard, honey-tongued
Musical Lugh the Shining One
Plucking harp strains of sorcery
Golden poetry
