Resilient

I am resilient
I trust the movement
I negate the chaos
Uplift negative
I’ll show up the table
Again and again and again
I’ll close my mouth and learn to listen

These times are poignant
The winds have shifted
It’s all we can do
To stay uplifted
Pipelines through backyards
Wolves howling out front
Yeah I got my crew but truth is what I want

Realigned on point
Power to the peaceful, prayers to the waters
Women at the center
All vessels open to give and receive
Let’s see this system brought down to its knees

I’m made of thunder, I’m made of lightening
I’m made of dirt, yeah
Made of the fine things
My father taught me
That I’m a speck of dust and this world
was made for me so let’s go try our luck
I’ve got my roots down down down deep

So what are we doing here
What has been done
What are you going to do about it
When the world comes undone
My voice feels tiny
And I’m sure does yours
Put us all together we’ll make a mighty roar

I am resilient
I trust the movement
I negate the chaos
Uplift the negative
I’ll show up at the table again and again an again
I’ll close my mouth and learn to listen…

When Giving Thanks Comes Hard

Words by Unitarian Universalist Minister Rev. Robert Mabry Doss.

When giving thanks comes hard for you,
And things are grim, and hope runs thin,
Recall:

Despair’s a door to pass on through,
And not a home for living in.

When thanksgiving fills your cup,
And those you love are all about,
Look at your blessings,
count them up,
And give back something to the world without.

Go in peace.
Go for peace.

For all who see God,
May God go with you.

For all who embrace life,
May life return your affection.

For all who seek a right path,
May a way be found . . .

And the courage to take it
Step by step.

Around the Sun

(By R.E.M.)

I want the sun to shine on me
I want the truth to set me free
I wish the followers would lead
With a voice so strong it could knock me to my knees

Hold on world ’cause you don’t know what’s coming
Hold on world ’cause I’m not jumping off
Hold onto this boy a little longer
Take another trip around the sun

If I jumped into the ocean to believe
If I climbed a mountain would I have to reach?
Do I even dare to speak? To dream? Believe?
Give me a voice so strong
I can question what I have seen

Hold on world ’cause you don’t know what’s coming
Hold on world ’cause I’m not jumping off
Hold onto this boy a little longer
Take another trip around the sun

Around the sun
Around the sun
Around the sun
Around the sun
Around the sun

Let my dreams set me free…
Believe…
Believe…

Circle Casting Song

(written by Susan Falkenroth. “The Circle Casting Song” from Reclaiming and Friends: Second Chants)

Eastern morning
First breath of the soul
Worldview forming
Sacred and whole
Wind of knowledge
Simple and wise
Bring of the lightnening
That strikes in our minds
Come to us– be here now

Southern Fire
White rays of the sun
Source of will
That always is done
Heat of passion
Longing and need
You who push the Green One
Out of the seed
Come to us — be here now

Wester rivers
devotee of the moon
gentle sculptor
of babes in the womb
Spring of jubiltion
Courage and tears
Giver of the sweet love
that sooths all our fears
Come to – us be here now

Northeren moutains
Body of the Earth
Finite treasure
Of infinite worth
Cave of transformation
Childbirth and death
Suckler of the wild ones
Who curl upon your breast
Come to us – be here now

Power Chant

(Lisa Dancing Light)

My power is rising
Rising from within the earth
Skyward to my Brothers
Pouring over Mother Earth

My power is rising
Rising from within the earth
Skyward to my Sisters
Pouring over Mother Earth

My power is rising
Rising from within the earth
Skyward to the Universe
Pouring over Mother Earth

My power is rising
My power is rising
My power is rising
My power is rising

Ah hey ah!
