Brighid’s Flame

Artist: Kellianna
Song: Brighid’s Flame
Album: Elemental

I am the spark before the fire
from winters cold I do inspire
I am the promise of the Spring
I am the tiniest of flames.

A dancing fire upon the snow
in darkest night a mighty glow
I circle toward the coming spring
I am all life awakening.

Mid-Winters’ slumber I do shake
I coax the seed and bulb to wake
I pull them slowly from their dreams
I am the Maiden of the flame.

Protecting all at time of birth
In love and safety draw them forth
I wrap all newborns in my light
I am the Maiden dressed in white.

Imbolc (Candlemas)

Song: Imbolc (Candlemas)
Artist: Lisa Thiel
Album: Circle Of The Seasons

Blessed Bridget comest thou in
Bless this house and all of our kin
Bless this house, and all of our kin
Protect this house and all within

Blessed Bridget come into thy bed
With a gem at thy heart and a crown on thy head
Awaken the fire within our souls
Awaken the fire that makes us whole

Blessed Bridget, queen of the fire
Help us to manifest our desire
May we bring forth all thats good and fine
May we give birth to our dreams in time

Blessed Bridget comest thou in
Bless this house and all of our kin
From the source of Infinite Light
Kindle the flame of our spirits tonight

Midwinter

Whispered:

Feel us now, we are the stars
Feel us now, we are the sea
Feel us now as the magic flowing within your heart
We are the wind that kisses the trees…

We come softly through the night
As evening falls behind us
Our footsteps leave no mark upon the snow
Let your spirit go, it will find us

We come adorned in spider web and dew
Through woodland to the meadow
We come luminous and bright
Dancing with the light and the shadow…

The winter moon is calling us to play
A sacred light to guide us
The wild music leads us in a trance
Spinning to the dances inside us

The air is cold and echoes with the sound
Of laughter rising higher
With drums and bells
We sing into the night
Dancing in the light of the fire

We weave a music curiously pure
A crystal song suspended
We fly on wings diaphanous as light
Dancing till the long night is ended

We come ancient as the moon
As new as every season
We come as fire, as icicle, as leaf
Suspend your disbelief and your reason…

Feel us now surrounding you
We are the wind that kisses the trees
Feel us now inside of you
A fairy heart that’s guiding you home…

Snake woman shedding her skin.

Shedding, Shedding, shedding her skin.

Shedding, Shedding, shedding her skin.
(Shedding, Shedding, shedding her skin.)

Bird woman taking flight…

Star Woman shining bright…

Moon Woman riding the night…

Blossom Woman opening wide…

Snake Woman shedding her skin…

One Spirit

(PJ Seale)

One spirit in the dark,
Like a candle waivers.

Many spirits joined as one,
Burn with the power of the blazing sun.

There is strength in community,
A circle empowering you and me.

The circle binds yet sets us free,
In the Goddess’ name, so mote it be.

Rose Orange Potpourri

rose_orange_potpourri

Happy Spring Equinox! We made these at Imbolc and shared them at Ostara. In case you wanted to make some rose-orange potpourri of your own… This makes about 10 sachets with about ½ cup mix in each.

  • 1 qt. dried rose petals
  • 1 cup dried orange or clementine peels
  • 1/2 c. dried lavender
  • 2 tbsp. whole cloves
  • 1 vanilla bean (cut or broken into small pieces)
  • 2 sticks cinnamon (crushed)
  • 1 oz. dried orris
  • 20 drops orange essential oil

Mix everything dry together in a large bowl. Add the 20 drops of orange. Mix it again. Store in a 2 qt glass jar for 6 weeks for scents to blend. Shake periodically. Spoon into sachet bags when ready.
